Classical homeopathy - an alternative to conventional medicine
What is homeopathy?
This alternative healing method was developed more than 200 years ago by the German doctor and chemist Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755–1843). The basis of homeopathy is the law of similarity “Similia similibus curentur”: similar is to be healed by similar.
Homeopathy restores the balance of body, mind and soul and stimulates the self-healing forces. It cures holistically and individually.
The responsibility of a homeopath is to find the single remedy which meets all the symptoms of the patient.
Areas of application
Homeopathy is used with acute and chronic (physical and psychological) illnesses. As long as organs are not damaged permanently or removed, there is always the possibility of a cure.
Some injuries, like broken bones or accidents which require surgery, belong to the area of competence of an orthopaedic specialist or a surgeon, but they can be accompanied homeopathically to accelerate recovery.
Homeopathic remedies
Homeopathic remedies are made out of plants, minerals, metals, animals and other substances. They are diluted step by step with lactose or alcohol and ground up or shaken: the so called “potentising”. Through this process the power of healing within the remedy is released and possible poisonous substances lose their toxicity.
Homeopathic remedies are mostly available as globules (little white sugar balls) or sometimes as drops.
The homeopathic treatment
The treatment of a chronic illness will be determined through a detailed first conversation (ca. 2 hours) and possible physical examination. After a thorough analysis a remedy will be prescribed. About 4–6 weeks later there will be a follow-up conversation (ca. 1/2-1 hour) to judge the healing process.
Acute illnesses can be treated quickly and effectively through a short conversation and possible examination.
